Let’s Work Together To Support Our School

The JHWMS PTO is a volunteer organization—that means we can’t do it without you! There are so many ways to help, both large and small. In the next few months we will be sharing our plans, volunteer opportunities and information on how to become a member in the 2024-25 school year.

We hope you’ll join us!

Because students attend JHWMS for only two years, our PTO needs to continually train new volunteers to assume leadership roles as 8th grade parents depart for high school. So we need you to jump in right away. No experience needed!

Open Executive Board Positions for 2024-25

The executive board begins work during the summer for the upcoming school year. If you are interested in any of these positions, please use the link below to submit your contact information. Deadline for submission is May 15th.

·      Co-President: Work with our incoming President, Meghan Myers, on all aspects of the JHWMS PTO, including planning and overseeing all events, meetings, etc.

·      Vice-President: Support Co-Presidents in running the JHWMS PTO

·      Secretary: Keep minutes of all meetings of the organization and of the Executive Board and handle correspondence of the organization as needed.

·      Communications Lead: Handle the distribution of emails and social media posts to JHWMS community. Update website as needed. We use MailChimp for our communications, and will fully train anyone who volunteers for this position.

·      7th Grade Board Reps (2): Attend all board and general meetings; take lead role in planning 7th grade treat. Monitor and respond to 7th grade email.

·      7th Grade Assistant to the Treasurer: Incoming 7th grade volunteer needed to assist the Treasurer throughout 2024-25 and learn the role, with the goal of becoming Treasurer in 2025-26

2024-25 Non-executive Volunteer Opportunities

& PTO Membership

Committee Roles: Recruiting for committees will begin in the Fall. Committees include Tricky Tray, Teacher Appreciation, 8th Grade Dance and 7th Grade Treat

Volunteers: Volunteers will be recruited throughout 2024-25 as needed and will include the above committees, as well as helping out at events, concessions, etc.

General PTO Membership: General PTO membership signups will be held at the beginning of the school year. Your membership fees provide the base funds for us to fundraise and support our goals.

We also encourage everyone to support our events throughout the year.

Our Current Goals

  • Help offset costs for the 8th Grade dance

  • Sponsor an end-of-year treat for the 7th grade

  • Teacher appreciation & support throughout the year
